The Certification
Value: The Certified Ethical Hacker exam from the EC-Council is highly sought after, especially by large businesses and the US Department of Defense. It is often specified in job profiles and by recruiters.
Knowledge gained: Provides a foundation for ethical hacking.
CEH Changes
The debuted November 2015. Right now, a number of old topics have been removed: Ping O Death, other ancient material. Buffer Overflows, as a major singular topic have been removed. Cloud material has been added. You should read the notes in the text books . The slides will tell only half the story. Shellshock, POODLE and Heartbleed are mentioned. So, they have pulled in some new-ish material.
For the test, CEHv8 will be gone once CEHv9 goes live. There is no delayed cut-over or dual test time. As of November 1, 2015, CEHv8 is gone. The test is all CEHv9. Our quizzer is all CEHv9 at of November 15, 2015. That is why you won’t see the old v8 quiz archived here.
